Happy New Year!!!

Well, another Christmas has come and gone, I hope everyone out there had a wonderful holiday. We had a great holiday here at chez-Schiding. I was actually able to complete my Christmas knitting in time. Mental note....really, start earlier ....It may be the same date every year but Christmas always seems to sneak up on you!

Here's the Monkey I made for my Niece Abbie. She's been named "Travel Monkey" and has already made the round trip to Texas. The socks are for my two older nieces Kay and Ellie. I was tickled to hear that they have already worn them!

I've already knitted a few after Christmas things, and my new project is to work on my craft room!! Gotta find more room for my stash!

And finally, Molly sums up the feeling of the day: Had a great Holiday, Loved seeing everyone, Need a Nap!!!

So much to do, So Little Time.....

When I first started knitting a few years ago, I couldn't understand the concept of having more than one project in progress at a time. Well, I have certainly embraced that idea! I am totally feeling my ADD with 4 projects in the works. I finished the felted bag for the Stewartstown Music and Arts Festival (www.stewartstownfestival.com) silent auction, and made a pair of really cute Mary Janes for a sweet baby girl born to one of my preschool parents. The need to throw myself into Christmas gifts is creeping up. I know it will be here before I'm ready! We went camping last weekend, and the knitting came with me. There is something really cool about knitting around the campfire.

A Year Later????

Hello all,

I finally got back to posting. What a year it's been! Time flies when you are having fun. I have been happily been knitting away on various projects, I've even kept a few. I have also made two new fabulous knitting friends. We get together every other Tuesday to knit, talk and have much needed Mommy time! Currently I am working on a felted tote bag for a silent auction to benefit a friend's niece and nephew. Their father passed away earlier this year, and the family is having a festival to benefit the kids. They are hoping to make it a yearly event. Here is a link: musicfestival@hotmail.com It will be in Stewartstown, PA on Sept. 29th and should be fun. Lots of music, food, and crafts.

Happy Knitting!

Yep, I'm Still Out Here

I really didn't fall of the face of the earth....

It has been so crazy here lately between school finishing up, vacation #1, water main break in the basement and ensueing marathon laundry session, and various other strange goings-on.

I have finally finished my shawl.
Go figure, wool shawl...90+ degree day, sounds about right.

I even made a few baby things for my cousin Wendy who is expecting her first baby in January. I had way too much fun making wee little baby things!!!

A Very Nice Way to Start the Day.....

Well, this morning I woke up to the beautiful beaming face of my 9 year old son. He presented me with coffee (yeah, I'm raising him right!) and proceeded to bring me down stairs where this was waiting for me.

The recliner chair was set up with blankets and the table had all of my favorite things on it. -my ipod, remote for the dvd player (that had my favorite movie in-Serendipity), my knitting, and Zack's Soduko on the DS that I am now addicted to. I swear, he has been ready to burst the last few days. He even bought me some plants at school. What a sweetie. Here's my guy.

Yep, he's a cutie. But I am a little biased!

Taking a break from knitting today,
I am actually going to be good and put my brace on....
you're supposed to be able to feel your fingers right????

Happy Mother's Day Out There.

Happy Mother's Day Out There!!!

Well, it's the first posting so here goes. I'm just learning this blog thing so please bear with me.....

I have been knitting like a mad woman lately. Carpal tunnel be damned!!!!

Right now I am working on the Nina shawl from Mason Dixon Knitting. I absolutely love the book. That's Molly sleeping on my shawl. You know your loved when you're allowed to sleep on a work in progress!

I have so many projects waiting in the wings. As a knitter of only a year and a half, I am taking the fact that I can now rationalize having many projects going at the same time as a good thing. You know, an blanket for working at home, the shawl for visiting friends, and the occasional socks or washcloth for errands.

Actually, I was strangley happy the other day when I noticed that my lovely stash had out grown it's cupboard and needed to be relocated to a larger piece of furniture. I think it's quite an achievement, but hubby developed a twitch when he noticed I had moved it.

Happy Knitting!
